Mercedes-Benz India is celebrating a triumphant close to 2023, having sold an impressive 17,408 units, marking a substantial 10% growth compared to the previous year. The luxury automaker achieved its best H2 sales and Q4 sales, with the sedan segment contributing significantly. As the company gears up for the future, it plans to launch 12 new models in 2024, signaling a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

Record-Breaking Sales Performance: In a remarkable achievement, Mercedes-Benz India closed the books on 2023 with a total of 17,408 units sold, reflecting a noteworthy 10% increase from the previous year’s figures. The second half of the year witnessed the company’s best H2 sales, accounting for 8,880 units, and a strong Q4 performance with 4,640 units sold. Notably, the sedan segment emerged as the powerhouse, contributing to 45% of the annual sales.

Top-Selling Model: LWB E-Class: The Long Wheel Base (LWB) E-Class emerged as the crown jewel for Mercedes-Benz in 2023, securing its position as the highest-selling model. This exemplifies the brand’s commitment to delivering luxurious and coveted vehicles that resonate with the preferences of the discerning Indian consumer.

Future-Forward: 12 New Models in 2024: Mercedes-Benz India is set to redefine the automotive landscape in 2024 with the launch of 12 new models, including both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). Notably, 50% of these vehicles will belong to the Top-End Variant (TEV) category, emphasizing the brand’s dedication to offering cutting-edge and premium driving experiences. The BEV segment, which saw an impressive 3x growth in CY23, is expected to contribute significantly, constituting 4% of the annual sales.

Strategic Investments and Growth Plans: In a bid to bolster its manufacturing capabilities and advance digitization processes, Mercedes-Benz India has announced an additional investment of INR 200 crore in 2024. This investment is earmarked for manufacturing operations, launching new products, and enhancing the overall digitization of the manufacturing process. This forward-looking approach underlines the brand’s commitment to staying at the forefront of automotive innovation.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, expressed his satisfaction with the brand’s performance and emphasized the commitment to exceeding customer expectations. As the company celebrates 30 years of operations in India, the motto for 2024 is “DESIRE to Exceed,” reflecting the brand’s aspiration to excel in customer experiences, service offerings, new product introductions, and sustainability initiatives.
